ALAF Limited corporate responsibility and sustainable development focuses on Health, Education, Shelter and Environment. The company engages in different CSR activities and Sustainable action.
Every year we make substantial Simba Dumu sheet donations to various institutions who make requests to us. We have donated Simba Dumu sheets to those who lost their houses due to the earth quake in Bukoba, 12 Schools in Temeke and Dodoma Regions were in dire need so that the students may have a conducive environment to study by having a roof over their head.
Our starting point is to continuously improve and minimize the environmental impact of our own operations; ALAF has invested in an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure any waste from the plant is treated before being discharged into the environment.
We also regularly engage in tree planting, monitor carbon emission, use of LED lighting to support a sustainable environment.
ALAF through its university partnership program gives opportunity to a number of students of internship and graduate trainee to work and learn within the company. Key Universities partnered with are University of Dar es Salaam, Mbeya University of Science and Technology, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, University of Dodoma and Mzumbe University.
ALAF has provided materials at subsidized rates for making of school desks, roofing of classrooms to schools across the country.
Sponsorship of Education of students in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and they have been employed at ALAF Limited.
ALAF limited in partnership with VETA and GIZ has sponsored the education and apprenticeship opportunities for at least 4 students annually since 2012.
ALAF Tanzania is one of the pioneer companies to implement the HIV/AIDS work place program in Tanzania. Focus has been on creating awareness on HIV/AIDS as well as opportunistic infections, having medical health camps, treatment of STIs, distribution of mosquito nets to Staff, dependants and the surrounding community.
ALAF together with TACAIDS, ATE, United against Malaria have donated 1,000 mosquito treated nets to all the employees and their registered dependants as well as the surrounding community where the Business Operates.
ALAF also has a dispensary that treats close to 6,000 patients annually. Here we provide affordable quality primary health care to our staff, dependants and soon shall be open to the surrounding community.
